Fast food chain KFC is to open more drive-through outlets in Thailand to increase its market share.
Franchisee Central Restaurant Group plans to invest 400 million baht (US$12.2 million) to open 10 new drive-through outlets next year.
KFC currently has 500 restaurants in the country, with plans to take the number to 750 by 2020.
It is targeting a market share of more than 50 per cent, it says.
According to MD Waewkanee Assoratgoon, the company is confident about the potential of drive-through restaurants because it can respond better to the changing behaviour of consumers.
It says Thailand’s fast food chain market is intensely competitive but it believes there is still a lot of room for growth.
