Taiwan ranked sixth biggest overseas seller

E-commerce giant eBay has ranked Taiwan as Greater China’s sixth biggest seller of products to overseas shoppers.

eBay’s VP and CEO of Greater China John Lin said Taiwan has a long history in conducting trade, mature system for sellers and sufficient supply of workers with a specialty in trade.

“We believe that the retail export industry is entering a new market phase with more holistic growth and greater professionalism as local sellers are leveraging local resources and developing specialty product categories,” said Lin.

Apparel and accessories, photographic equipment, automobile accessories, sports goods and computers and accessories are the top five categories with the highest transaction value for Taiwanese sellers, said eBay.

Taiwan trails Guangdong, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Beijing as the top places in Greater China for registering the highest sales overseas.
