Apple sells on Tmall

iPhone maker Apple has opened an online store on Alibaba-owned Tmall in China.

Apple already runs its own online store in China, however, it believes Tmall will help it accelerate the sale of its products in a market it considers globally important.

Launched in 2008, Tmall is a shopping portal which hosts over 70,000 merchants. Tmall and Taobao, both owned by Alibaba, are the most dominant shopping websites in China.

Opening on Tmall is Apple’s latest move to boost its iPhone sales in China. Earlier, it signed China Mobile to distribute the iPhone 5s and 5c. On January 10, it will open its fourth Beijing store at Central Mall.
