Korean pizza chain in Chinese roll-out

Korean chain Mister Pizza plans to accelerate its expansion in the Chinese market.

Mister Pizza plans to open additional 70 outlets this year on top of the existing 30.

“We set this year’s strategic focus at moving into the Chinese market more aggressively,” said Lee Jae-won, head of the Chinese unit of MPK Group, which owns Mister Pizza.

Aside from franchise and directly operated outlets, Mister Pizza has partnered with Golden Eagle Group to open outlets at Golden Eagle Department Stores.

“Last year we laid the foundation for the Chinese business and we will this year begin to make a big difference in the Chinese market. As a premium brand representing Korea, we will do our best to become a brand that can appeal to the Chinese customers too,” said Jae-won.
