Johnny Rockets makes Indian foray

International restaurant chain Johnny Rockets has opened its first outlet in India.

Franchisee, Prime Gourmet, has opened the first-ever Johnny Rockets restaurant in New Delhi at Select Citywalk shopping centre.

Boasting “the unique flavour of Americana” with its upbeat music, dancing servers and twirled straws, the restaurant offers American style diner food including chicken breast sandwiches and buffalo tenderloin burgers, along with local dishes such as Masala Fries, Tandoori Spiced Chicken Wrap and the Paneer Philly Cheesesteak.

The partners plan to roll out at least 20 Johnny Rockets in India over the next few years.

“With an ever-growing population of over 1.2 billion, second only to China, India provides a huge audience in a rapidly expanding consumer market,” said John Fuller, Johnny Rockets CEO.

“A younger population, larger disposable incomes, higher rate of urbanisation and exposure to western lifestyles are all factors that point to the success of our unique brand in that country.”

A second New Delhi region location is slated to open at the Ambience Mall, Gurgaon next month with future properties set for Noida, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Pune, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
