Taiwanese PC maker to sell online

Taiwanese PC maker Asustek has partnered with e-commerce company Uitox to make an online foray by April.

The two companies have set up a joint venture called Asus Digital International (ADI) to manage the online store, to be headed by Vincent Hsieh, who founded Uitox in 2013. Asustek will hold 80 per cent interest in ADI and Uitox 20 per cent.

The Asus e-store will initially offer ZenFone series of mobile phones but promises to expand product range.

The online venture is inspired by Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi, which launched an online store to cater to a broader customer base.
