Yeh! Yogurt hits China

Canada’s Yeh! Yogurt and Cafe is setting its sights on China for overseas growth.

Owners Jon and Marvin Gurman have entered into a joint venture agreement with an unnamed Chinese partner to bring the Yeh! brand of self-service frozen yogurt retail outlets to China.

“We look forward to the launch of the first stores within the next six months that shall be the forerunner of a very aggressive rollout,” said Jon Gurman.

Currently, there are 21 Canadian locations opened with several more scheduled within the next two months, including one in New York. More than 35 locations should be operating by the year’s end.

The China JV marks the second international agreement after a master franchise agreement previously signed in the Middle East.

Founded in 2008, Yeh! was the first to bring the self-service frozen yogurt experience to Canada. Yeh! is part of the JCorp group of companies headquartered in Montreal.
