7-Eleven reaches Taiwan milestone

7-Eleven has achieved a major milestone in Taiwan.

Local owner President Chain Store Corp has opened the 5000th 7-Eleven store in Taiwan in Greater Kaohsiung.

While there are more than 10,000 convenience stores in Taiwan, President Chain says the market is not yet saturated.

“Lifestyles in Taiwan are in transition, and customer spending habits and preferences are changing, which means the retail sector is entering a new era of development,” said President Chain chairman Alex Lo.

7-Eleven registered a 3.6 per cent sales growth to NT$101.44 billion (US$3.38 billion) during the first half, the company says.
