Filipino restaurant chain moves offshore

Filipino restaurant operator Max’s Group plans to seek further growth abroad.

The company says it will accelerate the expansion of its four brands – Pancake House, Max’s Restaurant, Teriyaki Boy and Yellow Cab – outside the Philippines.

Max’s Group currently has 27 restaurants abroad – 15 Max’s Restaurants in North America and the Middle East and 12 Pancake Houses in Malaysia and Qatar.

The expansion plan includes opening a minimum of 15 Yellow Cab outlets in Saudi Arabia.

The company also plans to take the Yellow Cab and Teriyaki Boy brands to Hawaii.

“The company sees Asia Pacific and the Middle East as key growth markets with their high concentration of overseas Filipino workers,” Max’s Group said.
