Di Bella Coffee targets Asian network

Australia’s Di Bella Coffee has announced plans to make a second attempt to break into India.

Di Bella, which already operates in New Zealand and China, is also planning to enter Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.

One year after terminating its partnership with Sachin Sabharwal, Di Bella’s parent company, Espresso Enterprises, has acquired a five per cent stake in AL Global Group, licensed to open Di Bella Coffee shops in India, West Asia, Europe and Africa.

“This company has seven stores, four in Mumbai and three in Hyderabad, which were transferred from the joint venture between Sachin Sabharwal and I,” founder Phillip Di Bella told Business Standard.

“We are launching a new store in Mumbai and re-launching two existing stores in the city. By the end of this year, we will add another seven stores, mostly in Mumbai.”

Di Bella Coffee targets up to 150 outlets in India within three years.
