Burger King gears up for India launch

India’s fast food market will further heat up with another big gun’s debut imminent.

American burger chain Burger King is now readying to enter the Indian market, looking to launch in the fourth quarter of this year.

Burger King is reported to have finalised three store locations in Gurgaon, Noida and Mumbai.

The Indian operation will be carried out in partnership with private equity firm Everstone Capital.

The country’s fast service market is forecast by retail consultancy Technopak to be worth $92 billion by 2020.
