Jubilant promises more brands in India

The Indian master franchisor of Dunkin’ Donuts and Domino’s Pizza is promising to bring more overseas brands to the market.

Jubilant FoodWorks says it has a five year strategy to bring new fast food and cafe brands into the market as it cashes in on Indians’ growing discretionary spending power and hunger for American and international foods.

“Jubilant FoodWorks will bring more brands into India in the next five years, as well as create its own brand in the food space,” Ajay Kaul, Jubilant FoodWorks CEO has told the Hindustan Times newspaper.

The company currently has 795 Domino’s Pizza outlets with plans to add a further 150 by mid 2016.

The company also plans additions to its menu to satisfy local tastes – for example, spicy toppings from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and West Bengal.

“We will introduce this over the next six months and will cover many other states by the end of the financial year,” Kaul told the newspaper.

Jubilant plans to expand its network of Dunkin’ Donuts stores from the current 38 to a massive 500 within 15 years.
