Oppo opens Singapore flagship

Chinese mobile phone brand Oppo has opened a flagship retail store in Singapore.

The store, located in Suntec City, is aimed at building brand awareness and engaging with existing and potential purchasers of Oppo phones.

Oppo is one of the fastest growing smartphone brands in Asia, gaining rapid awareness, empathy and traction with younger consumers. It was one of the first Chinese smartphone developers to introduce a 1080p resolution screen and amongst its more unique innovations was a single camera which swivels nearly 360 degrees, allowing selfies and traditional panorama shots to be taken using the same lens. October 29 marks the launch of its next generation N3.

Oppo is now on sale in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, India and Indonesia – and the brand has now moved into the western market, launching four phone models in Australia this month.

Launched in 2004, the Oppo brand initially gained international brand awareness through high end DVD and Blu-ray disc players, ranked among the world’s best in gadget review publications. But that operation is based in California, using a branding licence, and is not connected to the phone division.

In the Singapore flagship store, customers can have hands-on experience with the smartphones, see Oppo audio products and participate in bi-monthly workshops.
