Armani to open in Chengdu

Giorgio Armani is to open its first boutique in the Chinese city of Chengdu in Sichuan.

Designed by Giorgio Armani and his inhouse team, the store takes up 600 sqm in the upmarket International Finance Square mall. It features impressive facades facing the centre’s interior and outside onto the street.

It stocks both women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories, including shoes, handbags and small leather goods.

Inside, the store’s hallmarks are glossy marmorino plaster walls and matching ceilings, with floors of polished silk georgette stone.

The accessories area is characterised by transparent plexiglass and glossy black frames fixed to mirrored steel structures featuring printed bamboo motifs. Selected furnishings throughout the store are from the Armani/Casa collection.
