Jean-Paul Hévin combines chocolate, cuisine

French gourmet chocolatier, Jean-Paul Hévin is introducing a unique dining experience combining his brand of world-class chocolates with refined French cuisine for gourmands in Hong Kong.
It’s all part of the “Chocolate Tasting Journey”, available from May 11 at Boutique et Bar à Chocolat at Lyndhurst Terrace, Central.

The “Chocolate Tasting Journey” reflects Jean-Paul Hévin’s commitment to showcasing innovative creations and complementary tastes.  Created in conjunction with the prestigious Maison Escoffier, Jean-Paul Hévin’s “Chocolate Tasting Journey“ menu allows diners to discover the complementary flavours of chocolate and savouries.  Shining a new light on the use of chocolate, the menu particularly highlights chocolate as a subtle spice to enhance ingredients of a variety of recipes.
“The idea is to bring a new look to our menu which better reflects our brand DNA – the chocolate – by using it as the key ingredient in the menus,” explains Jean-Paul Hévin Chocolatier Hong Kong GM Olivia Niddam.
“We want to offer something new and unexpected emotions to our diners, and give them another opportunity to discover a different approach to appreciate chocolate.”

Highlights of the inaugural eight-course “Chocolate Tasting Journey“ menu include Cream of Peas and Mint, Cream Foam, and Cocoa Powder which perfectly illustrates how each sip of lightly flavoured mint soup is enhanced by the gentle dust of cocoa powder.
Priced at HK$380, “Chocolate Tasting Journey” is available from Monday to Sunday, from 11:30 am to 6pm. For those who prefer a concise experience, they can opt for the five-course “Initiation Menu”, priced at HK$250.
Alongside the launch of the creative tasting journey, Jean-Paul Hévin’s culinary team has also created five new Set Lunches (priced from HK$148 – HK$188 per person) which will go into rotation every week.  The set lunch features a soup and salad starter, a main course of pasta, meat or seafood, and ends with Jean-Paul Hévin’s Gâteau du Voyage Chocolate Cake Slice.  Le Parisien Hot Chocolate, coffee, or tea will be paired with the lunch set.
