SSI subsidiary Stores Specialists has obtained the franchise for the Joe Fresh fashion brand in the Philippines.

SSI will open a chain of Joe Fresh Philippines stores under licence from Loblaw, the Canadian retail giant which owns the brand.

The first stores will open next year, ranging apparel, accessories, footwear and beauty products for women, men and children.

“Joe Fresh further strengthens our lineup of value brands, allowing us to tap and delight an even broader base of Philippine consumers,” SSI President Anthony T. Huang said in a statement.

With 350 stores in Canada, Joe Fresh started expanding outside North America in 2014, opening stores with partners in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and the UAE.

“We are pleased to introduce Joe Fresh to the expanding Philippines retail landscape,” Joe Fresh president Mario Grauso said.

SSI, parent of the Rustan Group, also owns the FamilyMart and Wellworth retail operations in the Philippines.
