Hungry King lures $10m in capital

Just three months after its official launch, Hong Kong food delivery app Hungry King is delivering 3000 orders a day.
The app allows one-stop ordering of takeaways for end-users and also provides food and beverage outlets with resources planning tools.
Hungry King says it has now taken HK$10 million in investment funding over the last 12 months since a soft launch in 2014.
What makes Hungry King unique is that the app does not only offer a pool of unscreened information about F&B outlets. Instead it offers instant ordering for end users while providing backend support for the outlets to manage inventory and update menus and special offers easily and efficiently.
Hungry King takes care of the supply and demand management, and a more user-friendly features than rival food ordering mobile apps in the market, the company’s founder, Silver Spoon Asia Ltd, says.
Users can search for close-by outlets, whether delivery service is available and if there is any minimum order required. Users touch their screen to drop orders into shopping cart and check out after setting target pickup or delivery times. When ordering drinks, users can also select choices of sweetness or the amount of ice, to suit individual tastes.
Hungry King is now expanding its service network and will soon be launching its second phase of development, with an expanded range of outlets and higher level of customisation. A payment enabling feature will also be incorporated so users can pay for the orders instantly with their mobile phones.
