Luk Fook sales slide slows

Jeweller Luk Fook says is sales slide is slowing.
Figure released for the three months to June 30 show a same store sales drop of 18 per cent, two percentage points less than in the last quarter of 2014.
Sales slid 19 per cent in Hong Kong and Macau, affected by weak consumer sentiment.
The company said sales of gem set jewellery products in Mainland China grew by 23 per cent.
That helped same store sales in the mainland improve from a drop of five per cent in the previous quarter to stable in the three months to June 30.
At the end of the quarter, the group had 144 self-operated shops which included 80 shops in Mainland, 49 shops in Hong Kong, 10 shops in Macau and 5 shops overseas. It opened one store in the mainland and one in Hong Kong during the period,
Luk Fook has 1252 licensed shops in the mainland – 12 new ones opened during the quarter.
Altogether the network now numbers 1397 worldwide.
