A new online trading platform TradeEase has been launched, billed as the first Chinese eCommerce platform for cross-border online trading focused on Russia.
China TradeEase offers Russian buyers local customer service, a fully localised website and rubles pricing which helps buyers save up to three to four per cent of the cost.
TradeEase says it promises to implement strict quality control on all products sold through the platform, providing Russians with “a good online shopping experience for good quality products from thousands of Chinese brands”.
On the TradeEase platform, Russians can buy gadgets, household appliances, clothes, shoes, accessories, sports supplies, auto parts and other products.
At the time of its launch this week, the platform offers goods from 200 Chinese online retailers and plans to have more than 800 shops participating by the end of this year. The site says it expects to attract more than 100,000 Russian customers as members during the first three months. By September end, the platform is planning to introduce the import service to sell good quality Russian goods to China consumers.
Payment processing will be done by Yandex.Money, the largest electronic payment service in Russia, which accepts online payments via the most popular methods among residents of Russia and other CIS countries: bank cards, e-wallets, mobile billing through the top Russia/CIS providers, and cash via over 170,000 cash-acceptance points all over Russia.
The Bank of China is the financial service strategic partner to provide the Ruble to RMB FX conversion and other value added financial services to TradeEase sellers in China.
Kino Kwok, TradeEase GM, says the company aims to bring better quality Chinese goods with better consumer experience to Russian online consumers.
“Localised service and customised promotion will ensure Russian shoppers have a cheaper and faster way to buy high quality goods and save both time and money,” said Kwok.
