Honestbee sends Singaporeans to Japan

Singapore e-grocer Honestbee will send two Singaporeans on a month-long paid holiday in a Japanese ski resort.

And the two successful applicants will have US$10,000 thrown into the deal as well so they can make the most of their time in Niseko, a popular ski resort.

But there is a catch: the two people selected will have to blog about their experiences on the grocery service’s Instagram account – and spend some time working in a local supermarket to experience the challenges of keeping stores stocked and products moving in a climate very different to that of Singapore.

“We want them to have work experience in Japan because the conditions there are different,” Honestbee co-founder Joel Sng told The Straits Times.

“For example, when it is snowing, cars can move only at 30km per hour which slows down grocery delivery times.”

Entries for the World’s Coolest Job close on December 18. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and available to start their month in the snow on January 4. Once they return, they may join the Honestbee team in Singapore, Thailand or Malaysia.
