Singapore’s Select Group is searching for food retail opportunities in Cambodia, including for foodcourts.

The Catalyst-listed Select Group has established a substantial brand presence in Chinese fine dining, events and institutional catering, Thai casual dining, themed food courts, quick service restaurants in the city, as well a Hong Kong dessert chain. Its growing portfolio of restaurant and fast food brands in Singapore, include Peach Garden, Stamford, Lerk Thai, Griddy Gourmet Waffles, Texas Chicken, Pho Street, Hill Street Coffee Shop, Singapore Foodstreet and Universal Dining.

The company’s Universal Dining Global subsidiary has formed a Joint Venture partnership with privately-held Cambodian company MW Metropolitan International Brands to explore suitable food retail and food court locations in Cambodia. UDG holds a controlling 60 per cent of the stock of the new entity.

According to media reports, Select will invest US$300,000 into a Cambodian JV company within two months.
