A long list of Lunar New Year retail stalls will be on the block from next week.
The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) is offering 111 Lunar New Year fair stalls for rent that were not taken at auctions held late last year.
These stalls will now be made available to the public for renting at their upset prices starting from 9.30am on Monday January 11, leased on a first-come, first-served basis.
The LNY fairs will be held from February 2 to 8. Locations and prices of these 111 stalls (26 wet goods stalls and 85 dry goods stalls) are as follows:
- Victoria Park (Eastern District): Dry goods: 27 stalls, $13,300.
- Tung Chung Rd Soccer Pitch (Lantau Island): Dry goods: 13 stalls, $700.
- Fa Hui Park, (Sham Shui Po): Wet goods: 15 stalls, $5510; Dry goods: 27 stalls, $12,150.
- Cheung Sha Wan Playground (Sham Shui Po): Wet goods: nine stalls, $780.
- Morse Park (Wong Tai Sin): Dry goods: 14 stalls, $2140.
- Yuen Wo Playground (Sha Tin): Dry goods: one stall, $7120.
- Sha Tsui Rd Playground (Tsuen Wan): Dry goods: one stall, $13,230.
- Po Hong Park (Tseung Kwan O): Dry goods: two stalls, $2390.
- Tin Hau Temple Fung Shui Square (Tai Po): Wet goods: two stalls, $3550.
The number of remaining stalls may be subject to change and the actual number of stalls available for renting will be released on January 11.
People who are interested in renting a stall should approach the following FEHD offices, as appropriate, to apply in person. For further details, call the FEHD hotline at 2868 0000 or visit the department’s website.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and ordinarily resident in Hong Kong. Each applicant may select only one stall at a time. The spokesman reminded the public not to assign, sublet, transfer or otherwise part with any of the benefits or obligations of the licensing agreement of the LNY fair stalls. Otherwise, the FEHD may terminate the agreement and the licensee shall immediately vacate the stalls. The licence fee would not be refunded.
