Aquazzura Hong Kong to open in 2016

Italian luxury shoe brand Aquazzura has chosen Hong Kong for its first own brand store in Asia.
The new Aquazzura Hong Kong boutique is slated for opening in late 2016, according to Edgardo Osorio, the company’s co-founder and creative director (pictured).
The brand is currently sold through department stores and selected retailers across Asia where Osorio says the brand is doing “amazing things”.
“Hong Kong is a window to Asia and an excellent place to start the brand’s business expansion in Asia,” he said in an interview.
Osorio was born in Colombia, raised in Miami and London and founded the luxury brand in Florence in 2011. The company’s website says he “combines his eye for drop-dead glamour, his passion for modern design and his hand for luxury craftsmanship into desirable footwear”.
He launched Aquazzura aged just 25 after spending 10 years working within prestigious luxury brands such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Sigerson Morrison, René Caovilla, and Roberto Cavalli.
He draws his inspiration from European luxury and tradition whilst creating modern shoes that are both sexy and incredibly comfortable, winning him awards such as the Footwear News Best Designer of 2015 award, the Vivian Infantino Emerging Talent Award in 2013 and Elle Spain’s Style Awards as the 2014 Best Accessories Designer of the Year.
The Sexy Thing booties, the Belgravia and Christy flats, and the Wild Thing sandals are his signature styles and have been claimed as ‘must have’ shoes by top influencers and fashion press.
Aquazzura shoes are stocked in 48 countries within the top retailers of the world and it has its own boutiques in Florence, London and Miami. Along with Hong Kong, the brand plans boutiques in Dubai, New York and Moscow.
