Mikimoto Hong Kong opens seventh store

A special ceiling is a feature of the seventh store in Hong Kong for Japanese pearl and jewellery retailer Mikimoto.
At 1881 Heritage in Tsim Sha Tsui, the new Mikimoto Hong Kong store’s ceiling design represents founder Kokichi Mikimoto’s famous Yaguruma sash clip, which drew large crowds when exhibited at the Paris Exposition in 1937. Meaning “Wheels of Arrows”, the clip had 12 interchangeable settings, and can now be seen at Mikimoto Pearl Island.
On display in the new Hong Kong store are exclusive pieces of high-fashion jewellery featuring natural pearls, including conch pearls.
Mikimoto’s other Hong Kong stores are at Elements, Canton Road Lane Crawford, IFC, Pacific Place, Sogo and Times Square. There is also a store in Macau, at the Macao Venetian.
