Japanese skincare brand Fancl has returned to Singapore, opening a counter in Isetan Scotts in Orchard Rd.

Known for its preservative-free products, the brand first launched in Singapore in 2000 and grew to 13 stores, but closed them all in 2014 after continuing losses.

To herald its return this month, the brand’s website has expanded with product features and promotions, previously only offering the chance to subscribe to a mailing list.

Rather than being run directly, the branch now is under the wing of Fantastic Natural Cosmetics (Singapore), which works with the Fancl regional office in Hong Kong. There is an opening promotion until the end of the month.

“Now we want to be in Singapore forever,” says Fantastic Natural Cosmetics MD Christopher Chan, revealing plans to expand.

Fancl products are also available in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan as well as Japan.
