AS Watson Group innovating with humour

To mark its 175th anniversary, health and beauty retailer AS Watson Group has turned to social marketing and humour.
Its newly-launched “Innovation” advertising campaign features a series of funny yet creative illustrations, released on the social media platforms of its retail brands in Hong Kong, including Fortress, ParknShop, Watsons, Watson’s Water and and Watsons Wine.
To convey the message of innovation, A.S. Watson has teamed up with artist Tony Electronic, who uses illustration when sharing innovative and interesting ideas and inventions on his Facebook fan page.
Also revitalising its corporate values by adding innovation to its four existing values of passion, commitment, teamwork and science, the company has setup a website page to encourage people to submit ideas for the company to bring to reality. Individuals, companies or academic institutions are invited to submit ideas about products, packaging, services and ideas to enrich the lives of customers.
With 12,400 stores, AS Watson is the largest international health and beauty retailer in Asia and Europe.
