Hong Kong’s Michelin-starred Qi-House of Sichuan in Wanchai is to have a sister restaurant, Qi-Nine Dragons, in Tsim Sha Tsui.
In Prince Tower on Peking Road, the new restaurant will offer regional cuisine when it opens next month.
Along with its Michelin star, Qi-House of Sichuan has earned rave reviews for its contemporary twist on Sichuan cuisine since opening in 2013 at J Senses, being described as “fashionable and approachable” and “hot and sexy… the sort of place that speaks to the young and hip”.
Complete with a rooftop terrace for alfresco dining with harbour views, the new 2000 sqft (186 sqm) restaurant has mood lighting to create “the mystic, old-world charm of Sichuan”. Head chef Chan Wai-Kin will continue to capture the “seven flavours of Sichuan” – spicy, aromatic, sweet, bitter, sour, peppery and salty – in modern style.
A private dining room caters for dinner parties and intimate events.
