Social e-tailer launches BuyMa US

Japanese social e-tailer Enigmo has launched an English version of its BuyMa shopping website, BuyMa US, which offers limited-edition fashion items and accessories at sale prices.

With more than 3.2 million members – 80,000 of them in 128 countries registered as “personal shoppers” (sellers) – and more than 7600 brands listed, BuyMa has been listed as Japan’s most popular social-shopping service.

With its global launch, the brand is offering US customers access its mix of luxury designer and contemporary everyday international fashion, cosmetics and trendy home/interior items.

BuyMa has more than a million items ready for worldwide shipment. Once an item is ordered, the personal shopper picks it up from the third-party retailer and ships it directly to the customer.

Personal shoppers buy at local prices, and many have connections with brands, enabling them to buy at competitive prices.

On BuyMa, buyers can directly ask personal shoppers questions about fit, colour, styling and so on by using a Questions button beside each item.

Meanwhile, Enigmo has posted advice of “extraordinary losses” for quarter one of this year, related to its subsidiary Enigmo Korea. It has booked provision for doubtful accounts of 32.404 million yen (US$320,868) as extraordinary losses for cash advances to Enigmo Korea.
