Hawaii second foreign market for Hachibei

Japanese yakitori-style restaurant chain Hachibei plans to enter Hawaii with an outlet in Honolulu’s Chinatown.

With several locations in Japan, Hachibei will open in Real Office Centers (ROC), joining other restaurants such as Brick Fire Tavern, Cantina and Fete on the ground floor of the building, which has just been bought by California-based co-working and office space company ROC for $3.75 million.

Unlike a traditional office building, ROC provides common areas for group discussions, a community cafe and kitchen, and a wireless internet service.

Hachibei’s first overseas foray was into Taiwan.
