South Korean cosmetics and personal-care products company LG Household & Health Care is launching a dermo-cosmetic brand, Dr Belmeur, through its budget cosmetics subsidiary The Face Shop.
It is the first time for The Face Shop to have its own dermo-cosmetic brand, which joins LG Household & Health Care’s four other labels, Carezone, CNP Cosmetics, CNP Rx and Dermalift.
Skincare products under the Dr Belmeur brand are made from mild ingredients recommended by dermatologists, and use a customised formula for specific skin types.
The Face Shop says the new products are for people with sensitive skin, and do not contain harmful preservatives or chemicals.
Korea’s dermo-cosmetics industry has reached about 35 trillion won (US$30.8 billion) in value, with annual growth exceeding 20 per cent.
