Central Pattana, the property development arm of Thailand’s Central Group, is investing 21 billion baht (US$640 million) in a new mega shopping and lifestyle complex in northern Bangkok.
Located on Phaholyothin Road, The Central Phaholyothin will span 457,000sqm and feature retail, dining, entertainment, and cultural spaces, including a concert hall and convention centre designed to host international events.
The site will also have direct train access to Don Mueang International Airport.
“This is a prime location that will allow us to serve more than 2.5 million people in northern Bangkok,” said Chanavat Uahwatanasakul, president for retail and development at Central Pattana.
“The Central Phaholyothin will not just be a shopping mall, it will be a world-class destination for entertainment, culture, and business.”
Some of the site’s key features include:
- Central Stage: Connecting an upper-level international dining area with a street food zone below.
- Market Hall: A rotating pop-up space for food and cultural events.
- Waterfall Courtyard: A green centrepiece featuring an Edible Garden inspired by the from farm to table concept.
Other zones will have fashion, family lifestyle, and creative arts.
Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, chief marketing officer at Central Pattana, said the project aims to redefine northern Bangkok and boost the city’s reputation as a global destination.
“Our developments have helped transform key districts into major landmarks,” Tangpoonsinthana added.
“With The Central Phaholyothin, we’re creating a new cultural and business hub that stands alongside global cities such as New York, London, Seoul, and Tokyo.”
The Central Phaholyothin is scheduled for completion late next year.
