Hongkong Post offers SME rebate

Recognising the growth of eCommerce, with increasing numbers of SMEs turning to online sourcing platforms, Hongkong Post has introduced a postage rebate for a limited time.
In collaboration with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the discount offer is for suppliers selling via HKTDC.com Small Orders and shipping through the Speedpost service.
The deal was announced at a Digital Export Marketing & eCommerce Strategy seminar at the HKTDC World SME Expo.
HKTDC director of publications and eCommerce Loretta Wan told the seminar that HKTDC.com Small Orders was launched in late 2014 to enable online transactions unrestricted by geographical borders and time constraints. Promoted at HKTDC trade fairs, it had grown to feature more than 120,000 products from 11,000-plus suppliers, generating more than 2.8 million business connections.
“Hongkong Post has become a partner, providing efficient shipping services and concessions for Hong Kong’s SMEs to help them develop their eCommerce businesses,” Wan said. Its new offer strengthened the collaboration to allow more local SMEs to benefit.
Small Orders had already received orders from more than 90 countries and regions, reflecting that the platform had become very internationalised, said Wan. Buyers had come from traditional markets such as Australia, the UK and the US, as well as emerging markets including India and Russia, and even less-familiar markets.
Wan said the new Hongkong Post postage rebate was being issued on a first-come/first-served basis until the sponsorship total was reached.
