Honestbee Singapore moves into food delivery

Online grocery retailer Honestbee Singapore will launch a food-delivery business next week covering the CBD, Bukit Merah and River Valley.

A spokesperson for the Singapore start-up says it has partnered 35 restaurants, and seeks to bring in more as it expands into other delivery zones.

“The aim is to cover the whole of Singapore, but we will grow organically,” says the spokesperson, noting that Honestbee aims to distinguish itself from other food-delivery companies like Deliveroo and Foodpanda by capitalising on its related services. It started as a grocery-delivery service when it launched in July 2015, and has expanded to providing on-demand laundry services as well.

To promote its new service, the company is running a promotion on its Facebook page in which 10 winners will each receive a meal worth S$30 (US$20).

Meanwhile, the company has expanded to Hong Kong, Japan and Taipei, listing on its website eight Asian countries in which it has a presence.
