Singapore bakery BreadTalk Group is about to launch restaurants in China and Thailand that specialise in pork ribs in broth.
Its wholly owned unit Together has formed a JV with Song Fa Holdings to incorporate BTGSong Fa Venture. BTG-Song Fa will run Song Fa Bak Kut Teh restaurants in China and Thailand.
BTG-Song Fa will be 90 per cent owned by Together with the balance held by Song Fa.
No financial details have been released.
BTG-Song Fa will run the Teochew Bak Kut Teh brand in Thailand and in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
Founded in Singapore in 2000, BreadTalk has nearly 1000 retail stores worldwide. Song Fa launched in 1969 and has restaurants in Indonesia and Singapore.
