OldTown Group taking cafe brand to Shanghai

Malaysian cafe chain OldTown Group is launching its OldTown White Coffee brand in Shanghai.

It has signed a licence agreement with Shenzhen Kopitiam Asia Pacific (SZKAP) for setting up a network of outlets in Shanghai.

SZKAP is wholly owned by OTK (HK) Investment, which is a holding company fully owned by OldTown Singapore.

OldTown says the five-year licence takes effect from the end of this month, with an option to renew for two consecutive five-year terms.

SZKAP has the exclusive right to grant sub-licences.

Established in 1999, OldTown is Malaysia’s largest halal-certified kopitiam restaurant chain.
