Discounts of up to 90 per cent are being offered for 9.9 Mobile Shopping Day, the annual sales event run by e-commerce platform Shopee on September 9.
In the nine-day lead-up to the event, the site will offer flash deals, 99 cent items, themed sales and daily giveaways.
As well as its official partners, including Agoda, Citibank and Singtel, Shopee is partnering with such brands as L’Oreal, Philips and Reckitt Benckiser.
To kick off 9.9 Mobile Shopping Day, curated gift boxes will be released at midnight on September 9. There will be three options, each worth more than $150 but selling for $59.90 in limited quantities. There was a fivefold increase in orders for last year’s event as well as a three-time surge in traffic on the platform regionally, says Shopee chief commercial officer Zhou Junjie. More than 25,000 sellers participated with many sellers experiencing an increase in orders of up to 200 times their daily average.
