Three Italian entrepreneurs have opened their flagship 3 Italiani store in Hong Kong, offering gelato, chocolate and espresso.
Covering 2000sqft (186sqm) on the ground floor of Tower 535 in Causeway Bay, the store was founded by brothers Massimo and Gianluca Gagliardi with gelato master Vincenzo Iannacone. Support was given by Invest Hong Kong.
It is described as a “chilled, fun and social place” by company president Mauro Gagliardi. “My sons have travelled with me around Asia since a very early age and they have fallen in love with Asia, especially the very robust and metropolitan Hong Kong.”
3 Italiani offers 20 traditional Italian flavours and 10 Asian flavours of gelato, all produced in-store in small quantities using seasonal local fruits, and fresh milk and cream. There are no artificial additives.
The store also provides breakfast, waffles, chocolate and coffee.
Gagliardi senior says they plan to expand by franchising, with Bangkok, Shanghai and Tokyo as targets.
