Jumbo Group has opened its fifth Jumbo Seafood outlet in China, in downtown Shanghai.
In Hongqiao, the 830sqm outlet in L’Avenue Mall can seat 212 customers and offers seven private rooms.
Its other three Shanghai outlets are at IAPM Mall (Xuhui district), Raffles City (Huangpu) and the Shanghai International Finance Centre. The group’s other store is a Jumbo Seafood outlet at the Beijing SKP mall.
This follows the group’s outlets in China starting to generate a larger slice of revenue – about 17.5 per cent of revenue, or S$25.4 million (US$18.8 million) for this year, compared to 8.5 per cent or $10.5 million for 2015.
Group CEO/executive director Ang Kiam Meng says there is potential for further expansion in China following it opening five outlets “in a relatively short span of four years”.
