Marketers, retailers headline MarketingPulse conference line-up

Creative thinking from content to media is the underlying theme of MarketingPulse, a day-long conference in Hong Kong on March 21.

The integrated branding and marketing event organised by HKTDC will allow global marketers, brands, advertising agencies, media, innovation professionals and enterprises to share the latest marketing trends, exchange best marketing practices and explore new collaborations in Asia.

Topping an impressive line-up of international speakers are Joshua Grossberg, group creative director of McCann New York and Peter Lefebvre, creative director of Leo Burnett, who will speak during the session Innovation Shapes New Marketing Frontiers.

Grossberg was behind the 2016 Lockheed Martin promotional campaign “The Field Trip to Mars,” which used virtual reality technology to lead a group of primary-school students on a Martian adventure. The campaign, which leveraged cutting-edge technology, earned the agency numerous awards.

In a campaign for the Art Institute of Chicago, Lefebvre recreated the room featured in the Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh’s The Bedroom and listed it on Airbnb to give the public an up-close look at Van Gogh’s masterpiece. The cross-sector collaboration quickly went viral, successfully promoting the Art Institute’s Van Gogh exhibition to online audiences.

Speakers from the retail sector include Kei Suzuki, director of Ryohin Keikaku (Muji), JiPeng Men, VP of JD.com, and Mahmoud Salahy, GM of The North Face, China.

In addition, the conference will explore an array of topical marketing subjects, including the Asian and Chinese markets, content marketing and big data applications. The conference has also invited several creative marketing gurus to host interactive sharing sessions to discuss the latest trends.

The inaugural event, to be held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, is tailored for corporate retail and brand executives as well as marketing and advertising agency representatives seeking inspiration from the latest marketing strategies and trends.

MarketingPulse will also feature an Exhibition Zone, where digital marketing and innovative companies can showcase new marketing strategies, technologies and solutions, and demonstrate Hong Kong businesses’ marketing prowess.

On-site business-matching will arrange one-on-one meetings for brands and exhibiting marketing agencies to explore collaboration opportunities. In addition, the HKTDC will organise various networking events for brand representatives and marketing companies to exchange intelligence and build networks.
