Following a soft opening in December, German watchmaker Glashutte Original has officially inaugurated its boutique in Harbour City.
Greeting guests at the official inauguration in Gateway Arcade were Glashutte Original CEO Thomas Meier and Kevin Rollenhagen, MD of Swatch Group Hong Kong and Macau. The opening ceremony included a traditional lion’s dance and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
A master watchmaker was also on site, showing his craft.
The door handles at the boutique take inspiration from one of the watchmaker’s signature features, the swan-neck fine adjustment. The mechanical heart of one of the latest chronographs from Glashutte Original, the Calibre 37, sets the interior design theme, while showcases on the walls present the current collection.
A “wonder wall” offers visitors insights into the microcosm of the art of watchmaking, while opposite there is a lounge area.
