New Sports Group aligns strategies

With innovation as a fundamental driving force, investment holding company New Sports Group sought opportunities in sports tournaments, training and sports tourism last year.

Aligning with market changes, the company says property investment and business development in the sports sector are key to its development strategies.

After obtaining the rights to run a marine sports base and sailing school in Shenzhen Dapeng New District in December 2016, the Group as renamed them as New Sports Marine Sport Centre and New Sports Marine Training Centre. The Sport Centre has developed into a leisure-tourism offering docking and rental services, driving lessons, scuba-diving lessons, leisure venues and hotel services. During the year, the centre hosted, jointly hosted and provided site support for more than 10 competitions and events.

After hardware and software upgrades, the Training Centre has collaborated with multiple institutes needing training, including the Emergency Management Office of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government. The centre provided more than 20 training events last year, as well as complementary services such as accommodation and catering.

Moving forward, the group says it will focus on three areas: sports and health, cultural tourism , and property investment and development through mergers and acquisitions.

For the 12 months until the end of December, the group achieved about HK$191.5 billion in revenue, representing an increase of about 23.4 per cent. This was mainly attributable to the contribution of the revenue derived from the marine sports base and sailing school.
