In a debut for East Malaysia, Aeon Mall Kuching Central will officially open on Friday, but in a first for the Japanese brand the complex is hosting a three-day preview sale.
A 25-minute drive from Kuching town, the mall will house more than 130 retail outlets across three floors and have five levels of parking with 1800 car bays.
The mall incorporates Aeon Store with a supermarket and general merchandise store offering apparel, household furnishing and appliances, as well as F&B outlets.
At the mall’s official launch, the Malaysian Aeon Foundation will present a RM30,000 (US$7710) donation to each of four charity homes: Lembaga Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim, Pertubuhan Kebajikan & Pendidikan Nur Murni, Rumah Seri Kenangan Kuching and The
Sarawak Cheshire Homes.
The launch of the Kuching mall will take Aeon Co’s outlet total to 27 Aeon Malls and 35 Aeon Stores. The group also has two MaxValu and three MaxValu Prime supermarkets.
