Millennials in focus: final agenda confirmed

Pieter Paul Wittgen, the co-founder of online fashion retailer Grana and of supply-chain startup Olasso, has joined the line-up of experts for tomorrow’s Millennial Masterclass in Causeway Bay tomorrow afternoon.

Wittgen, a millennial himself, helped redefine the online retail model with Grana, with its focus on quality, timeless essentials for millennials.

Now he is COO and co-founder of Olasso, a SaaS Return Management Platform which delivers a premium post-purchase experience for customers of online retailers, using AI to reduce the operational, financial, and environmental impact of returns.

In both roles, Wittgen has had to develop engagement which attracts often-fickle millennial customers and converts them to customers – and more importantly delivers a service which builds loyalty.

At tomorrow’s event, organised by Inside Retail Hong Kong in partnership with Tofugear and KPMG, Wittgen joins an impressive line-up of speakers who will deliver a four-hour masterclass, leaving retailers and executives with strategies to employ in HR, marketing, the instore retail environment and after-sales service.

Limited seats are still available at the event, to be held in KPMG’s conference venue at Hysan Place, Causeway Bay from 1.15pm. Register here.

Anson Bailey, head of consumer & retail, Asia Pacific at KPMG, will be MC of the event and deliver an introductory overview of millennials, drawing on the latest research by KPMG and its partners.

Ashley Galina, founder of social media agency Alarice and resources and training company ChoZan explains about how millennials engage with brands through social media and are influenced by Key Opinion Leaders.

And Fyiona Yong, millennial coach, will address how the millennial employee experience impacts on customers, cover common perceptions and misconceptions about millennials and advise on how to design a generational-inclusive workplace and how that can help deliver better customer engagement.

Millennial forum

A key part of the seminar will be a live, unscripted forum where about 15 millennials will answer questions from a moderator, and delegates (via Sli.do). They will be asked for their views on brands, retailers, online shopping, how they shop and what really attracts them to brands.

John Chan, BDM at Axis, will talk about how music influence millennials’ shopping behaviour in-store with examples of retailers who have experimented with soundtracks.

And the event will wrap up with a comprehensive overview of the generational shifts driving technological change and adaptation in retail, presented by Tofugear’s head of research, Philip Wiggenraad.

The event closes with a cocktail function and networking opportunity, hosted by KPMG.
