NetEase Kaola opens Macau Pavilion online

Chinese e-commerce platform NetEase Kaola has signed a cooperative memorandum with the Sino-Portuguese E-Commerce Chamber (SPECC) to establish a virtual “Macau Pavilion” that offers Macau products to Chinese buyers.

According to SPECC’s executive VP Johnny Ma, more than 10 businesses – which will not be charged for the service – will participate in the online store, with around 50 products on sale. Currently the pavillion hosts four enterprises with 26 products. The majority of products on offer will be local or made in Portuguese-speaking countries, he said.

“Chinese customers always like food souvenirs from Macau and these products already enjoy popularity as such without the need to put too much effort into promotion,” he added.

Opportunities remain open for both Macau and regular businesses to register on the NetEase Kaola platform.
