Amazon Prime Singapore members in Singapore have celebrated their first exclusive Prime Day shopping event hosted by the e-commerce platform.

Members in Singapore ordered more items than ever during the 36-hour event, surpassing Cyber Monday, Black Friday and since the launch of Amazon Prime Singapore in July last year. Some of the best-selling items sold were Coca-Cola Zero, Kleenex toilet tissue and Play-Doh playsets.

Henry Low, director of Prime Now Asia-Pacific, said the company was “thrilled” by the response from Prime members and the record-breaking number of new customers who joined Prime in Singapore to help make Prime Day Amazon’s biggest global shopping event in its history.”

Members also received thousands of units of free gifts and samples, and were offered significant savings through credit card promotions.
