Five MTR malls are preparing to promote cartoon character Garfield’s 40th birthday.
One of the malls, Maritime Square, has arranged a crossover event in collaboration with local illustrator Siu Hak, the creator of Panda-a-Panda. An installation in the mall will depict scenes featuring both characters.
As an homage to Garfield’s 40th birthday, Siu Hak has created seven large visual attractions featuring the characters for fans to pose with. The artist has acknowledged the Garfield comic as being a source of inspiration in creating his own character.
The other four malls involved in the promotion are Luk Yeung Galleria, Ocean Walk, Sun Tuen Mun Shopping Centre and Hanford Plaza.
