Luk Fook named retail brand of the year in JNA Awards

Hong Kong’s Luk Fook Holdings has taken out a major jewellery industry award for retail brand of the year.

The retailer was one of 15 recipients honoured in the seventh annual JNA Awards for the international jewellery and gemstone industry, held in Hong Kong this week.

The awards featured as part of the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair Hong Kong and acknowledge exceptional contributions to the industry by 44 honourees and finalists across 12 categories.

Separate awards for retailer of the year were handed out to Indonesia’s Central Mega Kencana and China’s Hiersun.

Organised by UBM Asia, the JNA Awards is dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of excellence, leadership, innovation and best business practices in the jewellery and gemstone community.

The Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest accolade conferred during the ceremony, was – as previously announced – given to Prida Tiasuwan, chairman of Pranda Jewellery, for his efforts in bringing Thailand-made jewellery to the forefront of the global market.

Chairperson of the JNA Awards Letitia Chow said the industry is facing some challenging times, but participants should not be discouraged.

“Instead, this is the time to be innovative. This is the time to seek business opportunities with a different light and angle, and form alliances and collaborations to create win-win situations. Our honouree companies and individuals embrace this mindset to drive their businesses forward. I would like to express my deep appreciation and sincere congratulations to all companies and individuals who took part in this year’s awards. Together, we can make this industry flourish.”
