Xtep Sports opens Indian flagship

Hong Kong-headquartered Xtep Sports has opened its first Indian flagship store, in Bengaluru.

The Xtep group, which specialises in footwear and sportswear, currently has 6035 stores in 31 Mainland China provinces as well as in Vietnam, Nepal, Saudi Arabia and Spain. The company was founded by Ding Shui Po, now its CEO, in 1999 as an original equipment manufacturers for global sports brands. It launched its own label in 2002.

The company is reportedly planning to open five stores in India by the end of this year and will also sell through local online marketplaces.
