London-based skate and fashion retailer Palace has opened a new retail location in Shibuya, Tokyo.
The early November opening followed the brand’s October announcement of a pending collaboration with US fashion label Polo. The hotly-anticipated crossover saw queues forming from the night before its Saturday morning release at the RL Garosu store to secure purchases of premium limited-edition items.
Anticipation surrounding the store opening was heightened by leaked images of the new outlet’s design, featuring a staircase in the shape of the Palace logo triangle. A promotional video for the store was released on November 3 showing Jonah Hill in a parody of the Japanese horror film genre.
A highlight of the new store is including its “das changing room” feature, the ceiling of which is decked out with Tri-Ferg logo lights.
