Chinese sportswear firm Peak Sport has launched a new midsole material it describes as a scientific breakthrough.
The Peak-Taichi midsole was developed by Peak Sport along with scientists specialising in smart polymer materials. The high-tech midsole adjusts its contour and other aspects based on the wearer’s movements.
Peak Sport retains full intellectual ownership of the innovation, and plans to incorporate the material into more footwear products as well as sports underwear and safety protectors.
An intelligent molecular research expert in the firm Li Feng said: “The polymer material represents China’s breakthrough in the sector. Peak-Taichi, a gel material able to adjust its properties based on changes in the wearer’s movements, distinguishes itself from similar materials due to its unique dynamic performance.”
